Before

Ok so here is my very first blog post! Bare with me guys...new to this whole blog thing. You will find that I will be posting mostly about my favorite past time...Television! I am totally into those serialized mythology sci fi shows. My current obsession...FRINGE! Which as you all know comes to an end tomorrow night with a 2 episode finale. Perfect timing...I know. I decide now is the time to put my thoughts out there with just two hours left! No worries....you will find that I have lots to say on other shows as well, such as Once Upon A Time and Revolution (when season 1 starts back up again in a couple months). However, for now this is a post about what is going on in my mind BEFORE the finale of Fringe.

Those who watch the show should know Fringe has been through a very bumpy 5 seasons ratings wise, but it managed to grab a very devoted (for lack of a better word) fan base. It's because of "us" that the show has lasted this long and was, thank god, given the proper send off it deserves. So here we are, one day away from finding out if our beloved characters can save the future! (and maybe the past? Etta!)

I've noticed on message boards that many people are sharing the same thoughts on this possible "reset" as I am. At the moment Fringe is making us believe that in order to save the world they have to send Michael, the boy observer, to the future when the observers first started to become the observers. The idea behind it all is to stop them from becoming the emotionless beings that we know them as. The viewers concern is that by doing so would that erase everything our Fringe team has been through in the past 5 years and before? No observers means no September which means Peter is saved over there by Walternate and grows up on the other side...never meets Olivia or our Walter. Honestly, I think I have enough faith in the writers of the show to not do that. When it comes down to it Fringe is about Family Friends and Love...sure it has a huge science fiction back story, but at it's core it's all about Family and the strength of it. Erasing the history we have come to know will be as if the show just didn't exist. So I am choosing to believe that it's all going to go a different way.

At the moment it's all written out so straight forward that if it didn't take a turn in a different direction it just wouldn't be Fringe. That surprise factor is what helps define the show. Never before was it afraid to take risks...just as we got used to and started to love our characters they introduced us to a parallel universe where the same people were so different. Sure at the time most people, including me, couldn't wait to get rid of them and back to the stories of our people. But eventually they totally grew on us and season three in my opinion was the best season of the show. I was so sad when in season 4 they closed the bridge and we had to say goodbye to Bolivia and Walternate and Alt Broyles and Astrid.

Side Note: I am very excited it appears they will be back in the finale.

The show then did the unspeakable and erased one of it's core characters, Peter, from existence and essentially rebooted the show! Of course we got him back and Olivia thankfully remembered the previous timeline along with Walter eventually, however, at the time these big bangs as I will call them totally reinvented the show and gave me the reasons I need to have faith that hopefully tomorrow night the team will get the happy ending they deserve. After all like I said before I truly believe that this is a Family Drama at it's deepest and as long as they have each other in the end I will be satisfied.

Sorry if this post is all out of sorts...hopefully I will get better at this. Until then enjoy the finale! And this little collage I put together!
